'Anticipation of Spring' Show Garden

Here in the North of Scotland spring sometimes feels like it is a long time coming. This garden has been designed to perform throughout winter and blossom with new growth and flowers in spring.  The design centres around a basket seat filled with comfy cushions and warm fluffy throws providing the perfect place to relax and enjoy the arrival of spring.

The main feature tree is a mature Pinus nigra ssp 'Nigra' whose shape is reflected in the Pinus mugo 'Watereri' in the diagonally opposite border.  Grasses, just beginning to show new spring colour, provide the rhythm and Hellebores and Skimmias breathe colour into the garden.

The garden was created with Hortec Ltd in just five hours for the one-off event, Aberdeen Garden and Outdoor Roadshow, without any damage to the site.
